Cards cards cards

Thursday, March 10, 2011

Trying to re-organize my craft area and I have been making some cards on my sons little play table. It is comical to say the least, me sitting there in the tiny chair at the tiny table with stamps, inks, embossing powders, my extension cord, you get the idea. Anyway, I should be in bed since I work a double tomorrow, so no time to list ingredients. These are some cards made in the last few days.

For Operation Write Home:

My sister's second card ever, embossing!?! I think she's getting hooked! Hehe

For my other amazing sister who, after many hardships, got her highschool diploma in the mail today, yay!! So proud of her!! (This was hard for me as she is so not a "girly girl".)

My sister's first card EVER!

Saturday, March 5, 2011

My sister is in town visiting to help me out after my surgery and she decided to make a card. She used DCWV card base. A Colorbok textured white core paper for the background, which she cuttlebugged with Swiss Dots. She used the saying from Cricut Just Because Cards and the whale from Create a Critter. She used Stickles in baby blue for the water coming out of the spout. So proud of her! :)

Simply Sunday Challenge at Getting Cricky with K Andrew

Friday, March 4, 2011

I am excited about this Simply Sunday Challenge at Getting Cricky with K Andrew for the chance to win a Cricut Lite cart "sugar & spice". Check out www.gettingcricky.com to see and participate in the challenge or just to get some great ideas from those who are sharing. :)

I LOVE how this card turned out. It is for my sister who drove in from Florida to help me this weekend. Her name is Robon so I put that on the outside so she can display the card in her room. The inside says "thank you" in bright pink with little little heart from the "R" next to it. I used DCWV card base, Pink by Design Tiny Dots background stamp which I black embossed, the border was made with a Studio G stamp in silver, and the cuts are from the Rock Princess Cricut cartridge. This card was really quick and really fun to make!

Simply Sunday Challenge at Getting Cricky with K Andrew

Thursday, March 3, 2011

Tho card I made really quickly tonight for my sons babysitter. I had surgery today (so I have no idea what materials I used, lol) and she kept him overnight tonight and all day tomorrow. 24 hours of babysitting deserves a thank you at the very least! So I am on a ton of pain meds so all I know is the background stamp is Studio G, and the card base is DCWV. I am still posting a few items for the Getting Cricky Simply Sunday Challenge with a chance to win the Cricut Lite "Sugar & Spice" cart. Check out her blog she does awesome work and she is so fun and cute. www.gettingcricky.com It seems I got a sneak peek of this challenge on Wed. night so I have had the good fortune of trying out a few new techniques before the real deal challenge. :)

This is what I look like right now, aaahhh lol

Simply Sunday Challenge at Getting Cricky with K Andrew's

This is for the chance to win at Getting Cricky with KAndrew. www.gettingcricky.com First of all, I love her! She does amazing work and is always so chipper and funny. :) I made this card really quickly tonight since I go in for surgery tomorrow and will be out of it for the next few days.

I used a DCWV card base with a scrap mat piece as my background. I stamped on some very cute images from the Stampendous set "flutterfly friends" using Studio G chalk inks. Then I colored in some areas using Marvy Memories markers. (Side note: I LOVE these markers and I got them at Tuesday morning for next to nothing, yay!) I stamped my sentitment from Pink By Design "Love Always" onto white cardstock that I used the chalk ink and my make-up sponge to marble effect. I used some grosgrain ribbon under the sentiment which I pop dotted up. I used a Studio G stitch stamp to put a border on my background and a white Gelly for the stitched border on my card base. Then I took the acetate sheet some Studio G flowers came on and cut it out, colored it with Bic Mark-it markers and used Zots to attach it. Lastly I added some Stickles to the antanae to give them some more interest.

Hope you all enjoy making your entries, I can't wait to see some great things and get lots of new ideas! :)

Boy Birthday Card

Wednesday, March 2, 2011

This card was made using a DCWV card base. The background paper is from a scrap pack which I heat embossed with an opaque green glitter. The green cardstock was a scrap from another DCWV project. I inked the edges with a Studio G pad in the same color. The sentiment was stamped with Staz-On because I wanted it to bleed into the textured cardstock a little. The present is from dollar general 3D sticker pack. I wrapped twine around the green cardstock and used pop dots to make it more prominent.

Maw Maw's Birthday Card

I cuttlebugged a DCWV card base with the "textile" folder. I used some scraps for the frame. I stamped the flowers with a Studio G stamp with watermark and heat embossed with silver. Very quick card that looks so classy. The white core paper really took this card to the next level.

Baptism Card

This was for the Baptism of out best friends daughter. I stamped the background and envelope with some cheap filigree stamps in silver and cuttlebugged with Swiss Dots. I cut the sentiment with 2 cuttlebug dies from a baby set. The purple paper and card base are DCWV. The white ribbon was from a dollar tree favors kit that I bought for My brothers wedding but we used different ribbon for those. Simple, quick & elegant.

Manly Birthday

I made this quick card for my friends 25th birthday and it was a challenge designing for a man! The card base is DCWV and the rest of the paper is from a scrap pack. I cuttlebugged the background with tiny hearts and tied some thin ribbon from wal-mart on it. Simple, hopefully I'll have more opportunities to make cards for men so I get better at it. I'm waiting for my Pink By Design "Just 4 Men" stamp set so that should help.

Valentine

My son's (18 months) Valentine for his "girlfriend". The front says "to my sweet friend" and the back says "you make life sweeter" from the Pink By Design stamp set. The background is stamped on GP white cardstock with the Studio G stamps at Michaels.

Minnie Mouse Birthday

A birthday card for a red polka dot Minnie Mouse party. I used Cricut Mickey Font to cut out Minnie Mouse. The background paper is from the cheap cardstock packs at big lots, the white paper is the big cardstock printer paper from wal-mart, and the card base is DCWV. The stamp I made from the Cricut cutables stamp material a long time ago so I'm not sure which cart it is from.
